How to Apply and Setup RMC License for Speco Access Control Systems

This article review how to setup and implement RMC access for the Speco Access Control Systems.

Step 1: Enable RMC in Access Control

• After applying the RMC License, log back into the Access Control Panel.
◦ For instructions on applying the license, refer to the Quick Start Guide for Applying an Access Control License.
· These can be found in the literature with the Access Control Panel or on the product page at www.specotech.com.
• Once logged in, go to Settings.
◦ Click on RMC under Network Settings

Step 2: Activate RMC

• Select Edit and make sure RMC is enabled.
• Once enabled, the panel will display:
◦ Start Time
◦ Check Time
◦ Network Status

Step 3: Register RMC Account

◦ If you don’t have an account, click Register an Account.

• Complete the registration form with the following details:
◦ User ID
◦ Password
◦ Username
◦ Email Address
◦ Description
• Click Apply to register.
• After registration, enter your login credentials to access the RMC Server.

Step 4: Adding Access Control Unit to the RMC

• Click the Add button in the upper-right corner.

• A search screen will appear where you can look for the Device ID:

• The Device ID can be found in the Access Control Panel under Network > RMC.
• Enter the Device ID and click Search.

• After the search is complete, click the Apply button to add the site to your RMC.

Step 5: Confirming the Site Addition

• Once the site is successfully added, you will see confirmation information displayed on your RMC Server dashboard.

Access Control Card Types

Speco Technologies Access Control Cards can have different functions based on the card type selected.

Step 1:

• Click “scan card” , then scan card on the reader to add the card.

Descriptions of the different Card Types

Relock

• Relock will override and lock the door, during an Unlock Schedule.
• Relock will relock a door unlocked with E-Unlock or One Time Unlock Schedule.
• Relock will relock a door unlocked by Toggle or Passage card.
• Relock works for Server and Client doors.

Toggle

• Toggle locks a unlocked door that was unlocked by Dashboard or any other means except a schedule.
• Toggle unlocks a locked door that was locked by any means except Threat Level or HazMat
• Must swipe twice within 2 seconds (double bump).
• Toggle can be used on In and Out Readers
• Toggle overrides Passage card
• Toggle ignores Door Contact
• Toggle ignores Anti-Passback and Tailgating

Passage

• Passage card type with valid access level, should E-Unlock a locked door or E-Lock an unlocked door except for scheduled unlocks.
• Passage card must be presented twice within 2 seconds (double bump) to lock or unlock door.

One time

• Card only works one time
• Card only works one time even if it fails
• Shows up on Lost Card page
• Can reset one time use from Lost Card page

Guard Tour

• The Guard Tour card type does not unlock the door.
• It will generate a log message “Guard Tour Checked” when credential is presented to reader.
• If the Guard does not have access, a “Denied Invalid Access Level” log message will be generated
• Guard can go in any order to doors
• Guard can repeat a door before finishing.
• Does not matter if door is open or unlocked.
• Guard Tour follows schedule.

Hazmat Unlock

• The Hazmat Unlock card will ONLY disable the Hazmat state. Users will now have to present their regular credentials to access the premises. REX should also not unlock the door while Hazmat state is active.

Note; If a person is in the HazMat room and the HazMat alarm is activated, the user CANNOT swipe out of the room using the “Hazmat Unlock” card.

Latch

• Latch Card locks or unlocks a door on single swipe.

Note: This card cannot be used as a normal access card.

Deadman Check

• Deadman Card is swiped at the Out Reader to reset timer.

Note: Deadman card does not grant access.

Speco Access Control Mobile App Set Up

The step-by-step setup for getting an Access Control panel linked to the Speco Access App

Step 1: Access Control Panel Setup

1.Go to Settings > Network Settings > Link
2.Click Edit and check the box Mobile App Enable

3.Keep this open, the QR Code/Device ID will be used in later steps

Step 2: App Site Setup

• Download and open the mobile app on your phone from Google Play and Apple App Store
• Launch the app and Click the + key next to add a Site

1. Enter Site Name – Name of the System you are accessing.

– Note: You can have multiple sites managed from one app.

2. Select the method to connect to the device. There are two ways to connect:

– Address Method OR Linked Method. The App will default to Linked

3. You will leave the Device number and linked type blank as it will auto-fill and/or after you scan the QR code will provide the device number.

4. Enter your Username and Password.

•  Your Username and Password are the identical username and Password used to log into the access system. Each App user should have their own individual username and password. This will allow for user information to be tracked via the audit reports.
• Proceed to the next step – Note: Do not click the check box.

Step 3: Linking App to System

1.On the bottom of this page Click “Search Linked Site”

• Linked Site > Filter Note: You only need one piece of data – Device ID (QR Code) or MAC address
◦ Option 1: Enter the ID of the device to be searched. The device ID can be input easily by using the QR code. Click the QR Code Symbol and log into the access system – Mobile App Set up page – Allow the camera access to the App and present to the QR code. This will auto enter your Device ID
◦ Option 2: Enter the MAC address of the device to be searched.
· Click the check box to enter.

Step 4: Linked Site

1.Display device list.
2.Search your Linked Site.
3.Click on the Device No: text and select, the screen is closed and the number of the selected device is automatically entered on the Site Add screen. If not, enter the device number to the site page

Step 5: Site Add Check Box

1.You are now on the Site Add page.
2.To apply information you must click the Save box

Now you can use the App to manage your system via the Dashboard

1.Displays Event Log information.

Access Control: How to set up “Keypad and Card”

For a user to have “Keypad and Card” for every door, every door must be set at “Keypad and Card” for all users and all users must have the same format card

In order to use “Keypad and Card” the following criteria completed:

• Card format created for the keypad
• Card format created for the cards/FOBs
• Door settings created for “Keypad and Card” with the keypad format selected
• User has a card created and the keypad code in Key Number

STEP 1:

• Create card Format for keypad

4. Next select “Auto Scan” drop down and select a door / reader – if nothing appears then the door must be configured first.
5. Next click card scan, a timer will begin, counting to 30 seconds, Enter your 1 – 5 digit code followed by a * (or # depending on the keypad)
6. Now enter the card format name (Keypad) – recommend to use a name that is easy to recognize as a keypad pin format

7. Then click Add

Next Repeat the same step but decode your Proximity card.

Create card format for card / FOB

1.Click “Decoder”
2.Next select “Auto Scan” drop down and select a door (Reader)
3.Next click card scan, a timer will begin, counting to 30 seconds, present the card to the reader
4.Now enter the card format name (Card / Fob)

Setting the Door and Reader for Keypad and Card

Click the Settings” Icon,

8. Next select and click on the door to be selected for Keypad and Reader.
9. Move down on the door settings page until you see the Edit Icon – click to edit default profile.
10. Scrolling toward the top you will find “Reader” Section
11. Locate the drop down for In reader type – Click drop down and select Keypad and Card
12. Then select the keypad format created
13. Scroll down and click save.

Next Add a Keypad code and card user

1.Go to the main screen and click card holder
2.Click on the User in question or New
3.Select “Add Card”
4.Select the “Card Format” created for the keypad code.
5.Then enter the card number.

7.Select the access level and click “Save”

Note: If the user requires the card to be swiped before entering the code, follow these steps:

a.Enter the card format in the door settings
b.Enter the keypad format in the user settings
c.Enter the card number in the “Key Number”
d.Enter the keypad code in the “Card Number”

How to activate the ACMC2 credentials.

Once the digital credentials are received , how are they deployed and activated on a smart phone.

Step 1:

1.The file that is emailed to the installer will contain a zip file.
2.Once unzipped the folder will contain separate PDF files enclosed.
